Freida Pinto at Cannes Film Festival 2012
Freida Pinto looked gorgeous in a fresh pink with multicoloured bodice, strapless Michael Angel gown, jeweled by Chopard and matched with a Louis Vuitton clutch at the Opening Ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival 2012 and ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ Premiere.
She continued to wow in her next appearance for the premiere of Rust and Bone in an apple green Atelier Versace structured gown with a peplum-ish detail. Nude makeup, pink lips, Ferragamo heels and matching clutch and slick pony completed her look exuding summer chic. Freida's this look was featured in Cannes 2012 top ten best dressed list by Instyle, mirror and many more. Kudos to Freida for putting India on the world fashion map (after so many disasters by our leading ladies none of whom could really make a mark, barring Sonam Kapoor)
Aishwarya Rai at Cannes 2012
Finally Aishwarya Rai Bachchan put an end to the speculation when she made her first appearance at amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala on Thursday at Cannes Film Festival 2012 in Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla white and gold saree. She sure looked graceful and while the colours and the intricate work of the saree was amazing but something makes the outfit look not-so-perfect and the high neckline seems to have a lot to do with it.
Now here is a silhouette that's working for Mrs Bachchan, she looks lovely and maxi gives the perfect summer look. She's wearing a Angelo Katsapis maxidress.
At a photocall on Thursday, Aishwarya was spotted in a Roberto Cavalli kaftan paired with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes that was a wrong choice in every possible way (who was the stylist?).
At the premiere of Cosmopolis, Aishwarya made her second appearance in a sheer midnight blue Elie Saab Couture gown that again wasn't the perfect silhouette choice for her curves.
So which of the looks of Aishwarya do you prefer at Cannes 2012? If we go by statistics, Aishwarya has had more of misses (some more embarassing than the others) at the Cannes that hits.
Sonam Kapoor at Cannes 2012
Sonam Kapoor gave the first sighting at the Cannes Film Festival at the L’Oreal party in a Naeem Khan black and white polka dot gown. She paired the gown with red Chopard jewels and a red clutch. She looked lovely in the gown, considering I am biased with the dots.

At opening night gala dinner for the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival at the Electrolux Agora Pavilion, Freida wore a sheer dark sequined dress by Versace with a thigh high slit. She accessorized with a sequined black clutch, dark earrings and black pumps.

At the Desert Dance photocall, Freida went the 'very summer' route in the season's most coveted trend - bare midriff clad head-to-toe in a preppy Salvatore Ferragamo outfit

Sonam Kapoor attended the Closing Ceremony and 'Therese Desqueyroux' in an Alexander Mcqueen black and nude gown finished off with red lips and nails. The gown looks a little overwhelming on her, it almost makes me feel that it is taking away her playfulness and youth a little too dark for her. And those shoes were a downer.
With Sonam you always ride up your expectations, perhaps that's another reason for the missing wow. But I did love her hair, very retro.

One thing that you'd love about Sonam is she tries a different look everytime, she'll push the boundaries and go that extra mile and take that risk because she does the take pumpsthe business of dressing up seriously. And 9 out of 10 times she'd look great. At the Winners Dinner, Sonam Kapoor went for a whimsical girly look with red Dolce and Gabbana dress, matchin lips and pumps, black clutch and a tiara. It's too many things happening all at once, too much red, make up faux pas and with all that red the tiara.

Young, stylish and chic this was the best look that Sonam sported in Cannes wearing Marni separates, Suhani Pittie earrings and Roger Vivier pumps.
