More Hairstyles for the Women in their 20's - for 2007

Kate Bosworth's hairstyle--

Two styles-- a more casual layed look and a straight hair bob.

The Intellectual Look--

For a more writerly look or collegiate look, try red hair with a slight sideswipe bang. The color is what's working here-- an auburn red with just a little bit of red highlights around the face.

I love both of the styles in this photo above. Urban sophisicated. Though Norah's hair could fit a lot situations and styles.

Norah Jones' hairstyle--

For long hair, Norah Jones has a wonderful look.

Another brunette musician with long layers & a bit more angled bangs.

You can wear any style, you just have to feel good in it and wear something that brings out your beauty and focuses on your best qualities.

Some choices for 2007 are--

Ashlee Simpson has her longer hair up in the back, but you can also achieve this look by getting a short hair style with bangs.

The blond pixie. This is an easy style for college and would look well on brunettes or redheads as well. Cute, sassy, and smart.

Maggie Gyllenhaal always looks great. Here are two an easy layered styles.

Beautiful sophistication. Love this angled bob. This would be a great professional look that you could wear in a variety of ways with a few hair accessories.

The Diane Sawyer Haircut

Honestly, I'm bringing the top haircut to my stylist for my next cut (and I'm 25 years younger than her.) Diane's haircut is great for thick hair as well as for blondes, brunettes, and redheads. It's perfect for the oval face or a little longer for a round face.
I like her bangs in the last photo, though her side swipe bangs on the first photo are perfect. A classic sexy look.
Haircut for all ages: 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and beyond...

Best Redhead 2007 - Marcia Cross

Marcia Cross is an absolute beautiful woman. Her red hair color and hairstyle is perfect for her skintone and eyes.
Two great styles. A long bob and layers produce two great styles. Love the hair flip

Fall 2007 Hair Trend - Thin Headbands

Sandra Bullock, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Gwyneth Paltrow sport another classic look for fall-- the thin headband.

I know the bob falls under short hair styles, but I don't think short when I look at these ladies. I think stylish, sophisticated and easy. Maybe it's the women with the long blonde hair (think Paris, Nicole, and Lindsey's mugshots) that have been giving long blonde hair a bad name recently.
Of course, these are perfectly suitable styles for the police station. And note, we've got parted on the left, parted on the right, and the center part covered. A perfect style for your next conviction.

The Bob is Back - The Official Fall Hairstyle of 2007

Ellen Barkin and Paris Hilton wear the hair well. While I'm guessing Ms. Hilton's hair is just tucked up in the back to give the illusion of a bob haircut, Ms. Barkin's is the classic short in the back, longer in the front with some modern layering.

What this shows is that you can wear this style in a sophisticated way in your 20's, your 40's, or older. It's not a hairstyle that dates you.

You can see we here at Hair Obsessed have a soft spot for the bob--modern, classic, geometrical--this year, it's back. I haven't even mentioned Posh Spice - Victoria Beckham who opened the style up.

The Best Hairstyle for Every Face

Kiss N Makeup has a great list of what to do with your hair to highlight the positives of your face or to hide them.

See here and she had great photo examples as well.

Best Hair for the Oval Face Shape - Emma Roberts

This is going to take some imagination, but Emma Roberts has the perfect haircut for oval or long faces. The hairstyle she has here is great for younger folks, even women in their 40's and 50's can get away with longer hair, but if you need a more professional style haircut, start with this and basic style of side parted bangs and shorten the length.
Those of use with longer faces, know the issue-- long hair on a long face leads to the look of sadness. Think back to Nicholas Cage in Valley Girl. He always looked so sad in that movie--though mostly due to the eyebrows in the question position--but nothing a good haircut couldn't cure.
If you have a long face, the goal is not to make it look longer, but to make it rounder and you can do that with bangs, or a shorter length, or some body on the sides (see the Keira Knightley photo above).
For a shorter style to this Emma Roberts look, I'd say keep the bangs and the basic cut, but do an angled cut (shorter in the back, longer in the front) to keep it a little more professional. If you're unemployed or just look good in long hair, this style is for you. Still, I'd say anyone over 35 should bring it up in length 2 inches as if you look, those last 2 inches of her hair aren't doing much for the overall style and really, we don't need anything extra to take time away from our days, do we?
Give us the simple styles and let us return to our lives as usual.

Best Bangs - Paris Hilton

While I am not the a fan of Paris Hilton, I am a fan of her bangs.
Her color require a lot of maintenance on most women and her hair is just a little too long for most women and don't even get me started on upkeep needed on extensions, she has the most stylish bangs. Imagine if the back of her was cropped and short and she just had these long side bangs across her face-- perfection.
And while I'm sure "best bangs" will get a lot of people to this website who are looking for something complete different, I just have to say that Paris Hilton wears her style well.

Sexy Bob is not an Oxymoron

Keira Knightley as the new Chanel woman sports the classic bob with sex appeal. Proof, that the bob hairstyle is back and not just for the preppy folks on the tennis court. A slightly layered bob with side-swipe bangs with loads of curl. A haircut that passes "the finger test," even without Keira's gorgeous look, the hairstyle works on its own.

Also, just a note that Keira has said that her breasts in this photo aren't hers.

“Those things certainly weren’t mine. We had an interesting discussion when they said: ‘We want to make them slightly larger and you’ll get approval’ and I was like: ‘OK, fine. I honestly don’t give a sh*t’.”

“I don’t have any t*ts, so I can’t show cleavage.”

We here at Hair Obsessed appreciate her honesty and her flair for the English language and its slangy terms.

Pixie Cut - Selma Blair (with apologies to Zac Efron)

Though I sometimes believe Neve Campbell and Selma Blair could be the same people, here's another short look for fall.

The Pixie cut. My hairstylist believes most women can pull this off. I'm not so sure, but it does pass "the finger test," though it could easily be Zac Efron's hairstyle or maybe Clay Aiken's.

Super Cute Short - Neve Campbell

This is one of those cuts that doesn't pass "the finger test" (if I put my finger over Neve's face, the style is not super cute) so be warned. However if you're one of those women with a sweet face & you want to go short, here's your next hairstyle. I've seen Neve wear this many ways, but I like the sleek slick back style of it.

But a good style for a long or oval face. More short cuts to come.

Best Color & Cut for Fall- Ashley Judd

This is a great cut and color for anyone with thicker hair with a wave. Yes, Ashley has been made up well and I'm sure the hair in this photo took at least 2 hours, but you can get a similar look with long layers and just a touch of red highlights.

Soft and natural, this cut could easily be parted on the side. To make sure it's a good cut and color and I'm not just falling for an actress, I give favorite haircuts the finger test. Basically, I put my finger over the perfectly made-up face of the gorgeous actress to see if the hair stands on its own and yes, color and cut are lovely and would make the not-as-pretty face a little lovelier.

Best Color - Jennifer Aniston

Let's be honest, not many can pull off this style. You need fine straight hair and just the blow drying requires a commitment some don't even have to their mates, but the color, this perfect not too light honey colored blonde hair-especially on someone who is naturally darker, this looks great.

Tell your stylist, a little lighter around the face and then mix it up. Say "honey, caramel," or "warm or dark caramel" if you want a darker look.

In the fall you can darken things up, but a perfect end of summer highlight. Add some chunky loop earrings to steal the look.

Because this is Mena Suvari...

I admire this look. Honestly, as someone who has washed and blow-dried her hair every single day of her life for the last say, twenty years, I admire how much time this new 'do will save her. I desire to have short short hair, but I could never pull this off.

Now, given that Britney Spears shaved her head in a random act of insanity, the look has baggage attached to it. Still, there are women--Demi Moore, Natalie Portman, Neve' Campbell-- who can go shorter than the rest and still look beautiful.

So, whether or not the rest of the world likes Mena's buzz cut, I have to appreciate that she is going against the extra-long hair Hollywood drones and she's still cuter than most. Now how great is that? Shave your head and still be one of the cute ones. She kind of reminds me of Jessica Simpson in this photo, except I'm guessing there's a book in that bag.

Steal this Look

Katie Holmes with her husband Tom Cruise.

Amelia Earhart meets Katharine Hepburn -- Baby bangs, bomber jacket plus a scarf.

A perfect way to begin Fall 2007.

Best Hair of 2007

Katie Holmes has the perfect bob. A stylish haircut for 2007 that can change with her. Both sophisticated and fun.
